How Humanity Works as Oxygen in Your Mind and Spirit

Humanity is like Oxygen
Be Human and Replenish oxygen to your mind

How Humanity works as oxygen in your mind and spirit?

Have you ever thought about the source of oxygen for your mind and spirit?

So by this exclusive blog, I am introducing a source of oxygen for our mind and spirit
Yes, Its HUMANITY

Being a human is a beautiful experience in itself. This experience gives us the chance to feel our emotions deeply and in a way, those emotions influence the way we perceive the world and fellow humans. We are socially intelligent beings; we thrive in societies with positive bonding and can't be without one another.

This trait of ours brings out the feelings of love, compassion, and kindness within us. We literally bring out the best in each other. These feelings comprise a virtue or ethic that we call Humanity. Our primary purpose and duties are to prevent and alleviate human suffering wherever it may be found and to protect life and health and ensure respect for the human being.

With the current crisis of Covid-19 going on, we see two groups of people. One of those showcasing these qualities helped us get medicines, arrange hospital beds and oxygen cylinders, or just stayed up late at night talking to us and calming us down to make us feel a little bit better just because the other group showed none of these and had no regard for human suffering. They became deeply competitive, cruel, and violent and believed that some things we have constructed are much more important than particular human lives.

Giving importance to money that is an imagined reality, a concept invented by us, over your fellow citizens fighting a pandemic with meagre health resources and sky-rocketed prices for the ones available left us feeling helpless. Their humanity died and all of us ran out of oxygen. Looking at the numbers on Covid-19 toll just reinforces that they would've been much lesser if only humans hadn't risked other humans for selfish purposes.

Recent times have seen a great spurt in political strife within and between nations, economic markets crashing, genocides, children being bombed in their houses or killed on the streets, to name just a few of the issues across the globe. All of this has made this world feel so small.

Times like these test humans to their limits and drown us in feelings of fear, despair and shake our faith to the core. Thus, overcoming self-interest is necessary to create a more humane world. Little acts of kindness ultimately add up to huge contributions made for others. Dark times have also brought the best out of people and humanity can be strengthened with practice. We all can start by being the change, helping even one person, being kind to no reason to people and animals and even nature with no expectation of anything in return apart from the feel-good factor.

It’s easier to blame others and the world for being cruel and vicious but difficult to actually take responsibility for it. This country belongs to us and these are our people. There is oneness in everything. It’s high time we acknowledge that we drive this nation and be pro-humanity; to propagate and spread it and raise awareness. This is the social glue that binds us together and helps us to build meaningful relationships. Having good intentions towards others is the first step we need to take forward. The intention is really all those matters. Humanity starts as a thought and ends as an action.

Citing these instances, we can rightly compare humanity to oxygen; as important to human survival as air. If we help someone today and that's all we do, it's enough. Showcasing kindness tells another struggling soul that there is love to be found in this world. As Albert Einstein rightly said, "We cannot despair of humanity, since we ourselves are human beings."
